Request for Participation in the Pro and Con statement committees for the August 18, 2009 Primary Election Thurston County

    Olympia, WA – If a county, city, town, or other taxing district turns in a resolution on or by May 26 to the Thurston County Auditor’s Office, it is the responsibility of the district to appoint pro and con committees.  These committees will write for and against statements, and the district’s legal counsel will write an explanatory statement which will all appear in the Thurston County Local Voters’ Pamphlet for the August 18, 2009 Primary.
If a district is unable to appoint pro or con committees, it is the Thurston County Auditor’s Office responsibility to insure citizens have an opportunity to participate on these committees.  Listed below are the known jurisdictions that have submitted a resolution for the Primary Election:  Fire District No. 1 (Grand Mound-Rochester) & Fire District No. 11 (Littlerock).  Fire District 6 (East Olympia) and <<insert other districts w/resolutions>>
