Long-time family advocate throws support to conservative, David Castillo

Joe Fuiten, who has served as the Senior Pastor at Cedar Park Church in Bothell since 1981, has announced his personal endorsement of David Castillo, candidate for Congress in Washington’s 3rd District.

In addition to his work in ministry, Fuiten has a long history of organizing and working to promote conservative political causes.  Before entering the ministry, he attended Willamette University and received a B.A. in Political Science – where he also served as Chairman for the College Republicans of Oregon.

More recently, Fuiten served as the State Chairman for Social Conservatives on President Bush’s re-election campaign in 2004 and was the State Chairman for the Washington State Presidential campaign of Governor Mike Huckabee in 2008.
He is the founder of the Committee for Religious Freedom PAC and he currently serves on the board of directors for the Family Policy Institute of Washington, a Focus on the Family associate organization.

"I have followed David's career for a number of years and his commitment to community and country are admirable,” states Fuiten.  “He understands the value of faith, family and friends.  He will be a great advocate for the American family."

“Joe Fuiten is a man who I have the highest respect for.  He has dedicated his life to his faith and the tireless defense of traditional principles and values,” comments Castillo. “This is an amazing honor.  I am humbled by his support.”

Castillo currently works as a financial advisor with Edward Jones.  He lives in Olympia with his wife Callie and their son Caidan. They attend Lifepointe Church in Lacey.
