Hello, I guess I can be the 1st one to post here. Let me ask this of other Rep in Thurston County. Who are you going to support for the nomination for President and why? I think a good discussion should be in order for us. Thanks Tom
Proven voting record (Does what he says he'll do) follows the constitution. protects civil and constituional liberties. he's against big government and the price it inflicts on those under it's jack boot.
the Republican Party generally, believe that individual liberty is the hallmark of the American success story.
The freedom of Americans to make their own decisions, and to live their own lives, relatively free from governmental or other interference, has caused us to become a beacon of hope around the world.
The Republican philosophy encourages individual liberty, individual decision-making, entrepreneurship, and creativity. Everyone should be free to better themselves and their families. So long as you are not truly harming someone else, the government should not be in the business of placing obstacles in the path of you and your family’s freedom and success.
The party founders adopted the name "Republican" to indicate it was the carrier of "republican" beliefs about civic virtue, and opposition to aristocracy and corruption.
These are the things that I have always supported but, the Republican party of my youth did not seem to adhere to. It seemed as though they were for big business, while no help for the average small business man.
Congressman Ron Paul has represented to me the chance to bring our vision of Republican virtue back to our government. I believe if all things being equal with all candidates having the opportunity to speak to America Dr. Paul would win without a doubt.
I have read the law for myself, law is developed by precedence from previous court decisions yet, this non governmental agency the IRS is able to make each case start from scratch although the question has been resolved by a previous court cases. For example Tommy K. Cryer, J.D. won a case against the IRS for tax evasion. Mr. Cryer found that as many others have that there is no law which requires most Americans file and pay this tax, and isn't it interesting that in 1913 our currency was placed into the hands of a private banking cartel, a tax was imposed where our Constitution says no direct tax is allowed without apportionment among the States, then our Republic was destroyed by the 17th Amendment which allowed our Senators to be elected which destroyed the ability of the people to stop the executive from acting.
Conspiracy theory you say, you have not studied my friend, I went to college to find out how this great nation was brought to its knees by the depression, of all the books my professor required me to read not one explained the Federal Reserve System how it was created, who backed it and how before the depression the head of the FED artificially supported the Bank of Britain which increased investment there while depleting investments here. Not a far cry from what is now happening with the EURO which is one other reason for the war in Iraq, oil is part of the picture but so is the fact that Iraq wanted to switch from the Dollar as the exchange currency,to the EURO which brought a higher exchange rate. If OPEC switches this would result in a 20-40% decline in our dollar, which would put up in a depression.
Jefferson said that if we allowed a private bank to control our currency that first by inflation, which is just another tax, then by depression the corporations and banks would grow up around us until our children would grow us as slaves in their own land. In 2000 the Consumer Federation of America said that they estimated that over 60% of America was living pay check to paycheck, this was before 911, which after 911 the FED said they would provide liquidity which means they were going to print more money, notice how prices went up. Here we go again.
Well Im glad someone responded, and only after 2 months. The responses or lack there of, from Thurston County Republicans is embarassing. Are there only a handful of us outhere? I would think with the topic of "who are you going to support for President" would garner many responses. Either due to apathy or who cares attitude there has only been 2 responses. Shame on you Republicans. Tom
I'm the newly appointed Thurston County Chairman for Mitt Romney's campaign. I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone interested in volunteering for the Mitt Romney campaign -- as in preparing for the Primary and electing Mitt delegates. Frank
I would like to see more activity on this blog. I would also like to see some more work on the website as a whole. I know, as I am sure you do too, that there are many conservatives out there. I am also confident that many of them are feeling isolated in Thurston county, just as I have often felt.
One idea I would like to offer, to get the ball rolling would be to allow everybody to post on the blog. Make it a forum of sorts. People can post about all kinds of things, political and non-political alike. This would certainly encourage discussion and openness and make folks feel like they have a say in what is going on around the county and the nation.
I spend a lot of time at www.olyblog.net, which is a 'hyper-local' (supposedly) blog about Olympia. It is a good example of where a lot of political dialogue takes place. I would invite everyone to have a read, and let your voice be heard in the echo chamber of liberal talking points. I and two or three other conservatives of varying degrees post there among a bevy of liberals, and some support would be terrific.
I am helping coordinate volunteers for Dino Rossi's campaign in Thurston County. We are having the first organizing meeting on Tuesday, February 5th @ 5:30. The location will be determined by turnout. If you are interested in getting involved email me at thurston4rossi@comcast.net
This website needs a calendar. I moved here from Fairfax Co., VA where I was very involved in the Fairfax Co. Republican Committee and Fairfax Co. Republican Womens Club. Republicans seem to be hiding here. Are the Committee Meetings held at a regular time at the same place?
I'm supporting Mitt Romney and am very interested in volunteering for him as well as Dino Rossi.
I can't believe the Caucus is Feb. 9th and there is nothing about it on this website. I received an email with caucus info from the Mitt Romney campaign. How about we post something for other curious Repulicans?
I agree with Jen of Yelm. They had a calender of events on the previous web page about a year ago, it showed upcoming meetings for the Republican Women of TC meetings times and places. I dont know who the webmaster for us is so we could address suggestions and comments to them. I previously talked to Dan about puting a blog on here and he responded favorably to that, here it is! Thank you Dan. I am also looking to support Rossi and am still undecided on my choice for President. Lets keep this blog going and start getting geared up for Feb.
I posted some of the questions, like who is the web page administrator and who do we talk to about getting some things like a calendar of events added to the page, to the address on the "Contact Us" page.
I will post what I find out.
What are the thoughts out there about John McCain winning New Hampshire?
Something I considered to help generate interest here, is if we share some info about us.
Do you have a personal or professional web page or blog you would like to share?
What city do you live in?
Do you have any personal interests that can be shared?
On a personal note: I live on the west side of Olympia. I am a father of five, two of which are foster children. I am an avid fan of Formula one (www.f1live.com/en) I love to cook, and read, and blog on politics and current events.
I have my own blog page ( tifosi1f1.blogspot.com/ ) but I don't want that to be too much of a shameless plug!
The United States is heading for bankruptcy, according to an extraordinary paper published by one of the key members of the country’s central bank. A ballooning budget deficit and a pensions and welfare timebomb could send the economic superpower into insolvency, according to research by Professor Laurence Kotlikoff for the Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis, a leading constituent of the US Federal Reserve. Prof Kotlikoff said that, by some measures, the US is already bankrupt.
There are several ways the life blood of one nation can be trans fused to another. The most direct method, of course, is to make all outright gift, such as the bizarre American ritual called foreign aid. Another is to make a gift disguised as something else, such as needlessly stationing military bases abroad for the sole purpose of bolstering the foreign economy, or granting a loan to a foreign government at below market rates or—worse---—with the full expectation that the loan will never be repaid. But the third way is the most ingenious of them all: to have one nation deliberately inflate its currency at a rate greater than the other nation so that real purchasing power, in terms of international trade, moves from the more inflating to the less inflating nation.
Here we go again folk's, I thank god was not alive when the international banking cartel of which our FED is a part of bankrupted our parents, and their parents, but again thanks to many of then owning their land they had food with 40 per cent of the nation living on the farm, now less than one per cent are farmers, Safeway will not care if you and your family are hungry.
In a sign of how the once-mighty U.S. dollar has fallen, India's tourism minister said Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, that U.S. dollars will no longer be accepted at heritage tourist sites, like the famed Taj Mahal.
The Federal Reserve Bank is not a federal agency, the IRS is not as well, and Social Security is now not administered by the US government it is by the International Monetary Fund which is part of the UN, read the Constitution of the UN and find out that you have legislative rights such as under our 14th Amendment to the US Constitution. If they give you rights they can take them away as well.
I came across this post on a political blog from North Dakota I like very much. http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/daily_kos_if_mitt_romney_wins_democrats_win/
DailyKos says if Mitt wins the White House democrats win the White House. Think about that idea for a minute. Not whether you think the notion is true or not on its own, but that the lunatics at DailyKos think that way is pretty telling. They feel that if he wins, it will make it more costly for all the candidates, and thus take some burden off of dems.
He is openly encouraging Romney to be voted for by anyone democrat, Republican, et al, to wear us down as a party. What he Kos himself fails to get it seems is that as the conservative message gets out, as the issues solidify for the candidates to takes stands on, and the positions get refined and finessed, our side becomes stronger. People identify on many different levels on many different issues, and our party is inclusive. The folks at Kos and the Huffing post, and so on can talk all they want about multicultural this and inclusive that, but in reality, for all to see, liberals are not mainstream. They are not inclusive unless it is serving their own purpose. They love religion as long as it is not Christianity. They love choice unless it comes to school. They love illegal immigrants as long as they can vote, etc.
On a side note, Sayanythingblog.com is a great example of a terrific North Dakota blog. It is a terrific example of a national blog. Please take a few minutes and take a look.

TCRP Meeting on Jan 8, 2008, 630PM, Bldg 2, Thurston County Corthouse at 2000 Lakeridge Dr., Olympia. All Republicans welcomed to attend.
What is to be on the agenda? Why is it not posted? Who will be speaking? Will there be coffee? How about doughnuts? Muffins? Tell us!
This stuff should be up! Can I help?
C.
Chris, you should contact Dan Cathers immediately. I have a feeling he could use your help. He can be reached at chairman@thurstonrepublicans.com.
